FDIC Representative, Denver Mayor Hickenlooper, and Global Construction Leader to Speak at Exclusive Commercial Construction Lending Seminar March 3 and 4.

February 11, 2010

Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper, the Federal Department of Insurance and Credit (FDIC), and Global Construction Leader Tishman Construction Corporation to Speak at Exclusive Commercial Construction Lending Seminar March 3 and 4.

For cutting edge information and education on the ever-changing Commercial Construction industry, networking opportunities, and to hear several of the most prominent business speakers in the country, the annual Strategies For Success In Construction Lending (SSCL) Commercial Seminar is the place to be. Held at The Ritz-Carlton, Denver in downtown, this streamlined one-day plus conference will host industry executives from across the nation to discuss core issues facing the commercial construction lending industry.

The conference kicks off with an opening "Wild West' Welcome and Registration Reception on March 3 and follows with a full day of lectures and roundtable discussions on March 4. Keynote Speaker Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper opens the conference speaking on How Stimulus Money Has Contributed to Construction in Denver. Sessions will include up-to-the-minute topics in the commercial real estate and construction lending markets.

Commercial construction managers, SBA executives, loan workout specialists, credit risk managers, special services, title providers, construction lending attorneys and other decision-makers will be in attendance. Segments include: Structured LLC Transactions and the Use of Leverage and Advanced Facilities with speaker Timothy Kruse, Senior Capital Markets Specialist, Federal Department of Insurance and Credit; Real Estate Owned (REO) and Construction Workouts with Constantine Korologos, Managing Director, Deloitte Corporate Finance LLC; and Commercial Construction Best Practices with Daniel P. McQuade, Regional President, Tishman Construction Corporation. The afternoon will feature an interactive discussion on Top Three Issues and Solutions for Commercial Construction Lenders, featuring the Overall Housing Industry, Commercial Bubble and Industry Changes/Products.

"The SSCL is a quality, focused seminar that provides valuable insight into my profession," said SSCL attendee Tom Hallock, formerly of Countrywide Bank. "As with the past SSCL events I have attended, the … [SSCL] meeting held true; the SSCL is the single source for construction lending information," said Mike Chapelle, Wells Fargo.

Attendees will receive early bird pricing of $495 for lenders and $1,195 for vendors until February 26. Online registration is available at www.SSCLseminar.com along with hotel and transportation information. Exclusive hotel rates at The Ritz-Carlton, Denver are $179/night on a first-come, first-served basis.  Registration fee includes full program, breakfast and lunch, and networking reception.

Event sponsors include National Mortgage News, Permit Place, American Title, Granite Excell Management and National Association of Construction Lenders. Sponsorships and exhibit booths are available.

The 2010 Commercial SSCL is hosted by Granite Commercial Management, the "Experts in Commercial Construction Lending" offering services including funds administration, draw inspections, title datedowns, REO and distressed asset services, nationwide inspections, property condition assessment reports, and risk analysis reports.

First held in 1999, the SSCL Seminar was founded to provide a forum in which members of the construction lending industry could gather once a year to exchange thoughts and ideas. The Past attendees have included executives from Wells Fargo SBA Lending Group, First Republic Bank, US Bank Commercial, Bank of the West Commercial and SBA, United Western Bank, Mountain America Credit Union, and Summit Investment Management LLC. The SSCL Seminar is offered twice a year, with a March event focusing on the commercial industry and the September SSCL focusing on the residential construction industry.
